EAST RUTHERFORD (July 9, 2009) — Although Flag Day is not celebrated as a federal holiday, Americans everywhere continue to honor the history and heritage it represents. Flag Day is always celebrated June 14; it is a day for all Americans to celebrate and show respect for our flag. Our flag is representative of our independence and our unity as a nation.
To honor Flag Day, every resident of East Rutherford received a flag on their lawn compliments of Century 21 Gold Advantage & Peter Melchionne Jr., Pinnacle Mortgage.
“As we decorated the entire town of East Rutherford we met up with many different residents who thanked us for what we were doing,” said Jane Frank, broker owner. “Many of these folks were veterans who have served our country in the past, as well as families who now have a son or daughter who is currently serving our country in the military. We also have received many cards and phone calls from residents who expressed that our gesture was very well taken.”
The American Flag has a proud and glorious history. Century 21 Gold Advantage looks forward to making this an annual event.
