Doggy Q & A — 09/23/10

(Sept. 23, 2010) — Q. Hi Connie,

I was referred to you by a friend. I just moved to Hudson County and my Yorkie is having separation anxiety issues. I had a trainer come in and do various exercises and she was doing well, until recently she has gone back to her barking when I leave the house for work. I have stayed to listen and it seems that she stops after 5 minutes most is 15 minutes but I am sure my neighbors are not too happy with the barking. I don't know what else to do at this point. From training, to walking to tire her out to wearing my coat to bed to throw her off, and even sneaking out the house, it doesn't seem to work. Lately, I feel like a prisoner in my own home. I don't want to leave her because I don't want her disturbing the neighbors. Please help!

Is it real or is it JM Synthetic Grass?

By David Switalski / Advertorial Writer

(Sept. 23, 2010) — Close your eyes and picture your neighborhood’s most perfectly manicured lawn. Now take that lawn and imagine you never have to mow it. You never have to pay someone to mow it. Your dog will not be able to dig it up or discolor it. It will not hold colonies of insects. It will never become overrun with dandelions or crabgrass. Now open your eyes, it’s JM Synthetic Grass.

A message from Mazur's

(Sept. 16, 2010) — I’m Joe Spiekermann, owner of Mazur’s Bakery in Lyndhurst. About 30 years ago, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Like so many of us I still love sweets, so I developed a sugar-free line of cakes, pies and pastries.

My whipped cream cakes are made with 100-percent pure heavy cream and are sweetened with Splenda. Throughout my research, I found Splenda to be very diabetic friendly. Splenda is a sugar substitute that does not contain aspartame and it saves you additional calories and carbohydrates that sugar typically has.

I recently developed a sugar-free chocolate pudding and vanilla custard that we use as ingredients in our desserts. Please visit the bakery and try some of my products. It would be my pleasure to meet you.
