Burglary

RUTHERFORD — Ana Siderias, 29, and Shane Turner, 24, both of Maywood, were arrested Sept. 18 for burglaries in Rutherford, East Rutherford, Maywood, Teaneck and Rochelle Park. Rutherford Police Detective Lt. Patrick Feliciano and Detective Michael Garner made the arrest after an investigation linking them to a Sept. 11 burglary on Jackson Avenue. Police reported the couple stole jewelry and two laptops from the home. Police reported the boyfriend and girlfriend were on a heroine binge and were stealing to support their drug habit. The pair were charged with burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary in Rutherford with a $10,000 bail. Both were transported to Bergen County Jail.

EAST RUTHERFORD — Police reported on Sept. 16 at 3:36 p.m. that someone broke the window on the west side of a deli on Paterson Avenue and stole approximately $400 in cash.


Criminal mischief

RUTHERFORD — Dennis McKeon, 37, of Rutherford, was arrested Sept. 15 at 3:15 a.m. for criminal trespass and criminal mischief, after police reported he forced his way into the train station and damaged the south door frame. McKeon was reportedly found to be intoxicated and was transported to the hospital.

RUTHERFORD — Police reported Sept. 16 at 11:20 p.m. that someone broke four spindles from the gazebo in Lincoln Park on Park Avenue.

RUTHERFORD — On Sept. 18 at 11:40 a.m., police reported someone spray-painted a “Pacman” figure on a bus station sign on the corner of Union and Maple avenues.

RUTHERFORD — Police reported that sometime between Sept. 19 and Sept. 20, someone spray-painted a blue “Pacman” character on the sidewalk on Montross Avenue.


CDS

NORTH ARLINGTON — Vidal Vassall, 21, of Teaneck; Samuel Varano, 18, of North Arlington; Enrique Munoz, 20, of North Arlington; and Nader Naffaa, 22, of North Arlington, were all arrested for CDS-related charges, following an investigation headed by Detective Joseph Prinzo. Police stated that residents reported possible drug activity at 36 Union Place Sept. 4. After surveillance by the North Arlington Police Department Detective Bureau and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force, arrests were made. Munoz was charged with two counts of distribution of marijuana, one count of distribution within 1,000 feet of a school zone, one count of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Munoz posted bail and was released. Vassall, Varano and Naffaa were all charged with one count of possession of marijuana. All three were released on summonses.

EAST RUTHERFORD — Fred Worthington, of Fairview, was arrested on Sept. 20 at 1:27 a.m. for possession of CDS, following a motor vehicle checkpoint on Paterson Avenue. He was later released on summonses.

EAST RUTHERFORD — Stacy L. Mickelson and Melissa M. Sloan, both of Chicago, Ill., were arrested for possession of CDS (Vicadin), following an investigation at the Homestead Village on Route 3 East. Both were later released on summonses.

EAST RUTHERFORD — Edwin Marchena, of Little Ferry, was arrested on Sept. 16 at 7:56 p.m. for possession of marijuana, following a motor vehicle stop on Route 17 North. He was later released on summonses.


DWI

RUTHERFORD — Susan P. Harris, 47, of Rutherford, was arrested Sept. 15 at 1:27 a.m., following a motor vehicle stop on Route 17 North. Police reported Harris was swerving, went through a traffic light, drove southbound on the northbound side of Route 17 and failed the field sobriety test. She was later charged with DWI, disregarding a traffic signal, driving the wrong way on a highway and having an expired driver’s license. She was later released on summonses to a responsible party.

NORTH ARLINGTON — Nicholas Macrina, 19, of Kearny, was arrested Sept. 13 at 12:18 a.m. for DWI, following a motor vehicle stop on Ridge Road for reportedly driving on the sidewalk. He was later released on summonses to a responsible party.

EAST RUTHERFORD — Thomas M. Grande, 23, of Rutherford, was arrested on Sept. 14 at 2:24 a.m. for DWI, speeding, careless driving, no seat belt, failure to signal, fractured windshield and reckless driving, following a motor vehicle stop on Paterson Avenue. He was later released to a responsible party.


Fraud

RUTHERFORD — On Sept. 19 at 2:26 p.m., a West Passaic Avenue resident reported receiving a letter and $4,800 check from Star Capital Securities, claiming she won $500,000 in a sweepstakes that she never entered. The resident reported the letter instructed her to cash the check and then mail back a portion of the check to cover transfer fees. The resident reported never cashing the check.

NORTH ARLINGTON — Jimillah Reeves, 36, of Hillside, was arrested Sept. 17 at 8:42 p.m. for attempting to get a prescription fraudulently and for having a no-bail warrant out of the Union County Sheriff’s Department. She was later turned over to Union County.


Theft

RUTHERFORD — An employee of Daruma Restaurant on Park Avenue reported someone stole four patio chairs worth $40 each from the establishment sometime between Sept. 20 and Sept. 21.

EAST RUTHERFORD — Nicole Italiano, of Northvale, was arrested on Sept. 17 at 9:29 p.m. for theft, after police reported she stole $115 in cash from an employee of “Wag N Wash” on Park Avenue. She was later released on summonses.


Theft from car

RUTHERFORD — On Sept. 17 at 10:26 a.m., a witness reported observing a Hispanic male wearing blue jeans and a black hooded shirt, break the front passenger’s side window of a 1998 Jeep and steal a GPS unit, while parked on Orient Way.

RUTHERFORD — The owner of a 2001 Honda reported Sept. 19 that sometime between 3:25 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., someone entered her unlocked car and stole her Coach purse containing her driver’s license, Social Security card and credit cards, while parked on Glen Road.
