RUTHERFORD (Feb. 4, 2010) — The Prospect Music Series (hosted at the Rutherford Congregational Church at the corner of Union Avenue and Prospect Place in Rutherford) offers a great new way to end the week with jazz, folk and classical music presented by area artists.
On Friday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m., the Prospect Music Series presents the opera “Tosca,” performed by Pamela Olsen, Richard Gillyard and Mark Wilson with Eric Olsen as conductor and pianist/organist.
Puccini’s “Tosca” is one of the most dramatic and most performed operas in the world.
In “Tosca,” love, loyalty and patriotism swirl in a world of oppression and betrayal, set to music of unparalleled beauty and dramatic realism.
Eric and Pamela Olsen are joined by distinguished singers Richard Gillyard and Mark Wilson in their second performance of this exceptionally daring and engaging opera.
A passionate drama with intriguing characters and Puccini’s thrilling music make “Tosca” an absolute must hear.
Pamela Olsen has appeared as soprano or mezzo soprano in many local productions of operas, oratorios and solo performances.
