Lyndhurst posts three big wins before being ousted
LYNDHURST — In spite of the fact that the season ended more with a whimper
and less with a bang, the Lyndhurst Post 139 American Legion Baseball League
team did have some big playoffs games triumphs along the way.
After winning its first two NJ District 1 State Tournament games in Denville,
Post 139 was topped in the winners bracket final by Wayne on Monday, July 25,
but rebounded to earn a berth in the State Finals Tournament by edging Cranford
on Tuesday, July 26, prior to winning its first two tilts in the finals at Breslin
Field.
